Executorship
You are reading the plain-language version.
What does an executor do?
You write a will. It says who should get what after your death.
An executor makes sure that everything happens as your will says.
Why is trust so important?
The court does not check the executor. So you should choose someone you trust.
I have done this work for courts for about 20 years. I also do it for private people. You can meet me first.
Surely every person experiences once or several times in life the sobering realisation that parts of their property which they entrusted to others are not treated as they would wish.
At least during one’s lifetime there is still a limited opportunity to exert influence.
After death, this opportunity exists in only one way:
By appointing an executor.
How much importance should one therefore attach to naming as executor in one’s will a person one trusts to deal with the estate after one’s death exactly as one determined during one’s lifetime.
This is all the more important because the probate court does not supervise the executor.
I have been working for various probate courts for around 20 years and also offer my services as executor to private individuals.
This gives you the opportunity to get to know me and to assess my trustworthiness.
