What is this about?
My name is Wolfgang Viebahn. I live in Gummersbach, Germany.
I look after the property of people who have died. This is called the estate. It can be money, a flat or a house.
I have worked for courts for about 20 years. I also work for private people.
What can I do for you?
- Executor: You write in your will what should happen after your death. I make sure it happens exactly like that.
- Lasting power of attorney: Maybe one day you cannot decide for yourself. Then I decide the way you discussed with me.
- Living will: I make sure doctors know and respect your wishes about treatment.
Why is this important?
Some people do not arrange anything. Then a court chooses a stranger. This stranger does not know your wishes.
So: get to know me first. Then you can check whether you trust me.

About me and my work
Born in 1963, school-leaving exam (Abitur) in Gummersbach, studies in Siegen, work placement at the district administration of the Oberberg district – these are my “key facts”.
For around 20 years I have been working for the courts of the Oberberg district and the Siegerland district as an executor and estate guardian.
Time and again I come across the following “situation”:
People, young or old, are suddenly torn from life – and nothing has been arranged!
There is no will, no power of attorney or lasting power of attorney, and no living will.
The subject had simply been pushed aside, in the hope that what happens to friends, acquaintances and neighbours would never happen to oneself.
Or one always meant to deal with these things – to write a will, a lasting power of attorney or a living will – but did not know whom to appoint for this role.
The probate or guardianship court then appoints a complete stranger who – if you are still alive – makes highly personal decisions about your assets, your home and above all your health, about treatments or non-treatments carried out on you, without you ever having been able to discuss your wishes with this person.
Or – if you have died – your estate is distributed in a way you never actually wanted!
In addition to my court appointments, I offer private individuals my services as executor and as attorney under a lasting power of attorney, as well as attorney for your living will.
